Bundaberg Sugar Services, Isis Productivity Limited and the “Energy Efficiency Gains for Australian Irrigators” Project team are hosting two Energy Efficiency Information Days for Bundaberg and Isis cane growers.
These will provide farmers with practical ideas and advice on how to reduce the energy costs associated with irrigation.
Tuesday 11th November: on-farm pump and irrigation assessments 8.30 am

Wednesday 12th November: information session 9 am to 4 pm

Pump efficiencies and assessments
Electricity tariffs and which is the best tariff for you?
Efficiency of existing irrigation methods and could they be improved –more tc/ML – more profit/ML?
The impact of pipe size, valves and other constrictions- does this add to pumping cost?
Pump specs – is you pump best suited to today’s needs?
What new technologies are available and will they work on your farm?
Benefit of capital investment vs payback periods for pump and system upgrades
