2015 Australian sugarcane crush set to start

The Australian sugarcane crush is set to commence in eight days time with the Mossman Mill, north of Cairns, announcing 11 May as its start date.

Starting estimates for 2015 have been finalised with a crop in the order of 33.75 million tonnes in prospect for Australia. If achieved, this will represent more than a 1 million tonnes increase on the 2014 crop. Continue reading

Applications for 2016 Nuffield Australia Farming Scholarships open on 1st April

Nuffield 1Applications for the 2016 Nuffield Australia Farming Scholarships will open on 1st April. There are more than 20 scholarships open to primary producers and managers, which includes a Contemporary Scholars Conference (CSC), Global Focus Program (GFP) and individual study program.

A $30,000 bursary is available for successful applicants to study a topic relevant to their business and industry. The tenure is 16 weeks over two years with flexibility provided.
